2009: 2nd prize [3000 euro] from the Aristides Daskalopoulos Foundation during the 2nd International Competition of Research Work on issues of Science and Technology of Foods and Nutrition

2006: 2 prizes from the Aristides Daskalopoulos Foundation for two research works during the 1st International Competition of Research Work on issues of Science and Technology of Foods and Nutrition.

 

Research Activity

  • Development of analytical methods for the characterization of the composition [identity of secondary metabolites-metabolic approach] and recording of the chemical diversity of aromatic and medicinal plants.
  • Development of validated methods for the quantification of the main ingredients of herbal drugs, which find application in quality control.
  • Development of methods for the determination of natural products and their metabolites in biological samples
  • Strategies for isolation of natural products and their structural characterization
  • Study of the antioxidant and neuroprotective activity of extracts and natural products. Study of the structure-activity relationships of natural products and their analogues
